So that today the manifold wisdom of God, Ephesians 3:10, will become known through the Church to the authorities and authorities in heaven.
And the Lord said: Simon! Simon! behold, Satan asked me to sow you like wheat, but I prayed for you so that your faith would not fail; and you once having turned, confirm your brothers. He answered him: Lord! with you I am ready to go to prison and death. Luke 22:33
And so, the angel of the Lord appeared, and the light shone on the dungeon. [Angel], pushing Peter to the side, awakened him and said: get up soon. And the chains fell from his hands. And the angel said to him: Gird yourself and put on your shoes. He did so. Then he said to him: put on your clothes and follow me. [Peter] went out and followed him, not knowing what the Angel was doing, but thinking that he saw a vision. Acts 12: 7-9
… he plunged them into the inner dungeon and hammered their feet into the deck. Around midnight, Paul and Silas prayed and sang of God; the prisoners listened to them. Suddenly a great earthquake struck, so that the base of the dungeon shook; all the doors opened at once, and at all the bonds were loosened. The prison guard, having awakened and seeing that the prison doors were open, drew his sword and wanted to kill himself, thinking that the prisoners had escaped. But Paul exclaimed in a loud voice, saying: Do not do any harm to yourself, for we are all here. He demanded fire, ran [into the dungeon] and in awe fell to Paul and the Force, and, taking them out, said: sovereigns [mine]! What should I do to be saved? But they said: Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you and your whole house will be saved. Acts 16: 24-31
… others experienced abuse and beatings, as well as bonds and a dungeon, were stoned, sawed, tortured, died from the sword, wandered in graces and goat skin, suffering shortcomings, sorrows, bitterness; those that the whole world was not worthy wandered through deserts and mountains, through caves and ravines of the earth. And all of these, testified in faith, did not receive the promise, because God provided for us something better, so that they would not be perfect without us. Heb. 11: 36-40
Do not be afraid of anything you need to endure. Behold, the devil will cast you out of his midst into prison to tempt you, and you will have tribulation for ten days. Be faithful to death, and I will give you the crown of life. Rev. 2: 10
… for thus says the Lord God of Israel: the flour in the tub will not be exhausted, and the oil in the jug will not wane until the day when the Lord rains the earth. 1 Kings 17:14
