The immense greatness of power in us

Paul, by the will of God, the Apostle of Jesus Christ, holy and faithful in Christ Jesus at Ephesus: grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in heaven, for He chose us in Him before the creation of the world, so that we would be holy and blameless before Him in love, predestinating us to adopt Himself through Jesus Christ, according to to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He blessed us in the Beloved, in whom we have redemption by His blood, the forgiveness of sins, by the riches of His grace, which He gave us in abundance in all wisdom and understanding, revealing to us the secret of His will by His grace, which He had previously placed in Him, in the dispensation of the fulness of times, so that all that is heavenly and earthly can be united under the head of Christ. In Him we became heirs, being intended [to that] according to the definition of the One Who does everything according to the will of His will, in order to serve to the praise of His glory to us, who had previously relied on Christ. In Him you too, having heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and having believed in Him, are sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance, for the redemption of His inheritance, in praise of His glory. Therefore, I, having heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of love for all the saints, thank you all the time [God] for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation to His knowledge, and enlightened the eyes of your heart, that you may know what the hope of His calling consists of, and what riches of His glorious heritage are for the saints, and how immeasurable the greatness of His power is in us, believers by the action of His sovereign power, by which He acted in Christ having resurrected Him from the dead and planted His righteous Heaven in heaven, above all Authorities, and Authorities, and Strengths, and Dominions, and every name named not only in this century, but also in the future, and subjugated everything under His feet, and placed He is above all, the head of the Church, which is His Body, the fullness of Filling everything in everything. Eph. 1

And so that I would not be extolled by the extremeness of revelation, I was given a sting in the flesh, the angel of Satan, to depress me so that I would not be extolled. Three times I prayed to the Lord to remove him from me. But [the Lord] said to me: “My grace is enough for you, for My strength is done in weakness.” And therefore, I will be much more willing to boast of my weaknesses so that the power of Christ dwells in me. Therefore, I am complacent in weaknesses, in insults, in needs, in persecution, in oppression for Christ, for when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Cor. 12: 7-10

For it is written: I will destroy the wisdom of the sages, and I will reject the rational mind. Where is the sage? where is the scribe? where is the interrogator of this world? Has not God turned the wisdom of this world into madness? For when the world [with its] wisdom did not know God in the wisdom of God, it was pleasing to God through the foolishness of preaching to save believers. For even the Jews demand miracles, and the Greeks seek wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, a temptation for the Jews, and madness for the Greeks, for the called themselves, Jews and Greeks, Christ, God’s power and God’s wisdom; because the wise of God is wiser than men, and the weak of God is stronger than men. Look, brethren, who are you called to: not many [of you] wise in the flesh, not many strong, not many noble; but God chose the unwise of the world to confound the wise, and the weak of the world God chose to confound the strong; and the ignoble of the world, and the humbled and insignificant, God chose to abolish the meaningful, so that no flesh would boast before God. From Him and you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that [it was] as it is written: those who boasted boasted about the Lord. 1Cor. 1: 19-31
